UACJ and UACJ Extrusion Revise Prices on Aluminum Products to Reflect Sharply Higher Costs, Including Fuel and Secondary Materials

UACJ Corporation (whose headquarters is located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and whose president and CEO is Mitsuru Okada, “UACJ”) and UACJ Extrusion Corporation (whose headquarters is located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, and whose president and CEO is Keizo Shoji, “UACJ Extrusion”) have decided to revise their prices on aluminum products, as described below.

2. Background for the Price Revisions
UACJ and UACJ Extrusion have faced rising costs for some time on electricity, liquefied natural gas and other fuels, as well as on secondary materials pricing and packaging, transportation and other costs. Although we have endeavored to absorb these costs, current price rises are having a substantial impact on management.
We will continue working to absorb costs and rationalize management. However, in order to maintain product quality, supply stability and our R&D structure, we have concluded that we have no choice but to ask our customers to defray some of these costs.
