UACJ to Establish the Automotive Parts Business Division to Further Enhance the Aluminum Materials for Vehicles Business
Management
On April 1, UACJ Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku Tokyo, Japan; Representative Director and President: Miyuki Ishihara) will establish the Automotive Parts Business Division to further enhance its aluminum materials for vehicles business, which continues to expand.
Moving forward, the Japanese and global markets for automotive body sheets and other automotive components are expected to grow. In response, UACJ has been expanding its business in aluminum materials for vehicles in North America, Asia and Europe. In October 2016, the Company established the Automotive Business Development Division to augment its information-gathering ability across all departments and vehicle-related businesses in all Group companies.
By establishing the Automotive Parts Business Division, the Company aims to build a framework that will facilitate consistency from the planning and design stages all the way through the manufacturing, sales and quality assurance stages. In addition, we believe the new division will help us to swiftly and reliably ascertain demand opportunities and customer needs concerning aluminum materials for auto parts, including bumpers. Additionally, the Company will gradually dissolve its Automotive Business Development Division.
UACJ considers its aluminum materials for vehicles to be strategic products. The new Automotive Parts Business Division will play a central role as the Company leverages the technology and expertise it has cultivated over many years to help reduce automobile weight and offer the best solutions to present and future customer demand for automotive parts.
