UACJ Corporation (HQ: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Miyuki Ishihara) provides notice of a decision to close the Ayuttaya Plant of UACJ Extrusion (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary operated by UACJ's extruded products division.
1. Reason for the Closure
The Ayutthaya Plant of UACJ Extrusion (Thailand) mainly produces products for automotive heat exchangers, tubing for motorcycles, as well as shaped stock, bars and other extruded aluminum products, which it sells in Southeast Asia. As operating performance has deteriorated in the currently difficult operating environment, and earnings are not expected to improve significantly going forward, the Company has decided to close the plant.
This decision was in line with the Company's efforts to strategically target and focus on key businesses, one of the priority measures outlined in the “Implementation of Structural Reform” the Company announced on September 30, 2019.
