UACJ Publishes UACJ Report 2021 (Integrated Report)

UACJ Corporation has published the UACJ Report 2021, an integrated report. This publication describes the UACJ Group’s strategies for the future, provides an overview of its global business developments, as well as reporting on the Group’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities, operating performance and financial information.

We have published the UACJ Report each year since 2015 in response to the growing need to for stakeholders in Japan and overseas to better understand our corporate information and competitive position. As background, the report also explains market trends for the flat-rolled aluminum industry as a whole, as well as the value-creation process. In this manner, we have edited the report to cultivate understanding among readers who are learning about the Company for the first time.

The management message section of this publication explains the UACJ Group’s desire to achieve sustainable growth in tandem with society, as well as the issues it faces. This explanation centers on the UACJ Vision 2030, a long-term management vision we announced in May 2021, as well as our third mid- term management plan. The special feature section contains interviews with people responsible for the can materials and automotive parts business in the United States, which has been the source of robust demand in recent years. In addition, the report identifies the priority measures (materiality items) for achieving the Company’s future direction. We also introduce our sustainability initiatives, such as our endorsement of TCFD, which can help meet the growing global demand to address the threat of climate change.

The Company was formed in 2013 through the business integration of Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corporation and Sumitomo Light Metal Industries, Ltd. The Group has six businesses: flat rolled products, automotive components, extrusion, foil, casting and forging, and precision-machined components.
