UACJ Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinji Tanaka; “UACJ”) has decided to fund a capital investment at the Logan facility (Russellville, Kentucky, USA) operated by subsidiary Tri-Arrows Aluminum Inc. (Headquarters: Louisville, Kentucky; President: Henry Gordinier; “TAA”), as outlined below.

Purpose and reasons for the capital investment

The North American market for can stock, UACJ’s mainstay product, continues to expand as plastic use is being reduced. The market is expected to maintain steady growth at approximately 3% annually. In this operating environment, expanding our hot-rolling process capabilities has been a key challenge as we seek to meet strong customer demand and further strengthen our stable supply structure.

We have decided to fund a capital investment at TAA to expand production capacity and streamline production. With this investment, we will enhance the capacity of our hot-rolling equipment and eliminate bottlenecks by establishing a new finishing process.

Through this investment, the UACJ Group aims to achieve sustainable growth while maintaining and expanding local employment opportunities and community contributions, efforts it has been pursuing over the years.
