2007 Entrance Ceremony Welcome Speech by President Yoshihara (Summary)

April 2, 2007

First of all, I'd like to congratulate you all on your employment and welcome you to Furukawa-Sky. While there are many things I would like to talk about, I will focus on two important sets of issues on this occasion.

The first set of issues is the current situation of our company and our corporate strategy and goals for the current year.

These issues are directly expressed in this year's corporate slogan, "Create solid investment returns and develop momentum for further growth." Since fiscal 2007, the company has spent more than 30 billion yen over two years on large-scale capital investment, and the fruits of this investment are now beginning to take shape. Once everything has been completed this summer and soon thereafter, I am convinced we will have gained a very strong manufacturing system.

Furthermore, our R&D facilities, currently dispersed over four locations, will be consolidated at the Fukaya Plant. I expect improved research efficiencies and R&D capabilities as a result.

We intend to complete all these tasks as planned and as a result will hopefully achieve unrivaled competitiveness. Against this background, each and every one of you will be assigned to be in charge of certain operations. One thing I want you to keep in mind is the extreme importance of the current year for the company's future growth.

Furthermore, I encourage you to study and become familiar with the company's compliance and corporate governance systems.

The second set of issues I want to discuss is actually a request for all of you. Although we certainly expect you to quickly and actively become involved in the multitude of tasks that lie ahead of us, we also want you to take the time necessary to develop into highly competent members of the company. We will of course work with you to increase your abilities, but the real key is your own attitude. We cannot expect much from a passive attitude. Please cultivate broad interests and take personal responsibility for enhancing your abilities.

Once again, I congratulate you on your entry into this company and express my utmost expectations in the hope that your efforts will bear fruit as soon as possible. Let's work together to bring success to our company.
