What the UACJ Group can Do

Taking measures to address Climate Change is an urgent issue that society as a whole must tackle. We recognize that the global environment is irreplaceable for all life on Earth and that actively addressing climate change is an important responsibility. In particular, we have declared our commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 (net-zero greenhouse gas emissions). Although aluminum material production requires heat and large amounts of energy, making this goal far from easy, we are advancing the decarbonization of manufacturing processes through fuel switching, energy conservation, and the use of renewable energy.

Furthermore, we believe that addressing climate change through the utilization of aluminum materials has significant impact beyond simply reducing GHG emitted from our own business activities. Aluminum’s circular recycling—relatively easily reborn after use into products of equivalent quality—contributes not only to efficient resource use but also directly to energy saving and greenhouse gas reduction. Through technologies that bring out the inherent power of materials, we are expanding opportunities for aluminum utilization and contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions across society and the creation of a sustainable society.

Our Contribution to the SDGs

Our Vision, Targets, and Progress

Our commitment

We aim to establish an action platform to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. We also aim to minimize GHG emissions throughout our supply chain in 2050 through various collaborations with our partners.

Targets to be achieved by FY2030

Calculated using CO2 emissions per unit of production (CO2 emissions per ton of manufactured product)
  • The calculation is based on the Strategic Energy Plan released.
