New Sales Company for Automotive Parts to Be Established in Mexico

UACJ Marketing & Processing Corporation (Headquarters: Anjo, Aichi Prefecture; President & CEO: Taizo Kimura; “UMP”), a wholly owned subsidiary of UACJ Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Mitsuru Okada) will establish and begin marketing activities at UACJ Marketing & Processing Mexico S.A DE C.V. (“UMPMX”) in April 2017 as part of the company’s efforts to expand its global business. A sales company for automotive parts, UMPMX will be located in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico.

UMP engages in the sale of products made of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper, and precision-machined components, as well as slitting. The company provides solutions closely attuned to the needs of its customers, which center on companies handling automobiles and automotive parts—areas where production is growing more global and the trend toward lighter weight is accelerating. In the United States, which in particular is promoting more lightweight vehicles, UMP has bases in the states of Michigan and Tennessee, and the company has worked to expand its global operations.

The new company, UMPMX, will be located in the Santa Fe Industrial Park in the city of Silao, Guanajuato, a central location for Mexico’s automotive industry. The industrial park is considered a highly convenient location, being nearby the Del Bajio International Airport. From this base, UMPMX will respond in a timely fashion to demand for locally procured metal materials, precision-machined parts and components from customers in the automotive field, which is making progress in Mexico. Furthermore, the company will strengthen ties with UACJ Group precision-machining locations in Mexico, establishing a structure for supplying precision-machined components.
