Introduction of State-of-the-Art Extrusion Machine at UACJ Extrusion Nagoya Corporation for Automotive Aluminum Structural Materials and Parts

February 6, 2018

UACJ Extrusion Nagoya Corporation (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; President: Kazumi Kato), a consolidated subsidiary of UACJ Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Mitsuru Okada) has decided to introduce a state-of-the-art extrusion machine at its Nagoya Works. Capital expenditure is expected to total around ¥2.0 billion, and operations are slated to begin in June 2019.

Increasingly stringent environmental restrictions around the world are prompting demand for reduced exhaust emissions from automobiles, as well as higher fuel efficiency. This demand is driving the need for more lightweight automotive materials. Demand for automotive aluminum structural materials and parts is expected to expand along with automotive body sheet (ABS), helping to reduce vehicle weight. By introducing a new state-of-the-art extrusion machine, UACJ Extrusion Nagoya aims to streamline production and boost production of automotive aluminum structural materials and parts, for which demand is expected to increase.

In October 2017, the UACJ Group announced plans to augment heat-treatment facilities for ABS at the Fukui Works. By also reinforcing its structure for the production of structural materials and parts, UACJ aims to become a leading company in automotive aluminum materials and meet customers' needs.
