Subsidiary Established for Self-Support of Workers with Disabilities

January 29, 2007

Furukawa-Sky established FS Green-net Co., Ltd., a subsidiary intended to actively create employment opportunities for people with disabilities and assist their self-support efforts. The establishment of this new company is in line with our company's management philosophy of "actively promoting and supporting social activities as a responsible corporate citizen, while highly valuing workers and their individuality and helping them realize their full potential."

We now plan to apply for certification as a special subsidiary under the Law for Employment Promotion etc. of Persons with Disabilities.

The new company plans to begin its business with routine office work and cleaning work in Fukaya Plant, and then expand its services to cover neighboring geographical areas in the future. We will also discuss the possibility of implementing the business model of Fukaya Plant at our other plants in Fukui, Oyama, and Nikko.

An invitation for companywide participation in deciding the company's name was extended to focus attention on this new business, and the name was selected from among 221 suggestions. The name "FS Green-net Co., Ltd." is derived from the initials of Furukawa-Sky ("FS"), "green"& to imply an emphasis on ecology, and "net" to suggest deployment to other plants or in collaboration with other related facilities or groups.
