Emergency Measures for Improving Profit

In light of the prevailing severity of management conditions, Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corp. will implement emergency measures to improve profitability starting in February 2009.

We will review and pursue reductions in every respect, focusing on the following major points:

  1. Furloughs and request for labor adjustment subsidies (two to five days per month, depending on each work)
  2. Reduced executive compensation
  3. A general freeze on capital investment during fiscal 2009, limited capital investment during fiscal 2010
  4. Review of and significant reductions in costs
