Ceremony for the Establishment of Sales Company in China

Furukawa-Sky held a ceremony on December 3 at the Garden Hotel in Shanghai to commemorate the establishment of a 100%-owned Chinese subsidiary, Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Shanghai) Corp. (Head office: Shanghai City; Director and General Manager: Kunihito Takahashi). The ceremony was attended by about 70 guests and persons concerned from China and Japan. President Masateru Yoshihara and Senior Managing Director Kenji Tsurubori (President of Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Shanghai) Corp.) attended from Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corp.

Furukawa-Sky has been seeking to establish a sales base and reinforce its structure in the promising high-growth market in China to meet the global business development needs of its customers. In particular, the automobile industry is expected to maintain rapid growth over the next ten years. We have thus established a sales base of our own to meet the expanding demand for aluminium products such as materials for automotive heat exchangers.

Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Shanghai) Corp. will start by undertaking operations centered on domestic Chinese sales and overseas export and sales of aluminum sheet products manufactured by Ruyuan Dongyangguang Plain Foil Co., Ltd. and Shaoguan Yangzhiguang Aluminum Foil Co., Ltd., two Chinese companies in which we have extended capital participation this year. In the future, we foresee the company conducting import and sales of sheet and extrusion products manufactured by Furukawa-Sky as well as combined sales of extrusion products made by Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Tianjin) Corp.
