Opening Ceremony for Our Coil Center in Thailand

Furukawa-Sky held a ceremony on December 23 to celebrate the opening of a wholly owned coil center, Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Head office: Ayutthaya Province; President: Kunitoshi Chonan), which was established in February 2010.

The event was attended by about 70 guests and interested persons from Japan and other countries. President Masateru Yoshihara, Senior Managing Director and Representative Director Tatsuru Matsuoka, and Senior Managing Director Kenji Tsurubori participated on behalf of Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corp.

The main objective of Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Thailand) is to handle the processing and sales of aluminum products for automotive heat exchangers in the highly promising Southeast Asia region. The company will initially undertake the slit processing of coils supplied by Furukawa-Sky's manufacturing site in Japan and sheet rolling joint venture in China, eventually expanding operations to meet customer needs. The company will also seek to strengthen sales in conjunction with extrusion products manufactured by a joint venture in Indonesia.
